Bohemian: Me

In Uncategorized on October 8, 2010 at 11:35 pm

I am a bohemian!
I cry out to the wind, scream at heaven –
my shrieks split the sky in two and
the sun hides from me:
I am God, a bird! A china plate! Broken!
The wind is here, I am the wind:
Fly over me with the speed
of a million attacking crows –
I am the wild one!
I do not see what you see:
I see what is –
what can be! The streets not yet
built! The prisoners not yet free!
With a yell of triumph I
jump over the fence and
throw my shoes off! Glass
cuts the skin but this is nothing,
nothing, to the hurt seventeen years
in this world: the damage is done:
I am broken! A china plate! A stone bust!
The torn sky is mine:
the rain: the tears; the thunder:
the fears.
